Lighter evenings, warmer weather and daffodils beginning to bloom, Spring is definitely on it’s way and I am here to share with you some of my favourite trends for this Spring / Summer. So get your purse at the ready because you’ll be wanting to do some serious online shopping after seeing some of these trends.
Colour, colour, colour!
Be brave and create impact in your outfits by wearing colour. Bold colours were a statement last Spring / Summer and this is continuing in 2022. Hot pink? Neon orange? Cobalt blue? Think the brighter the better and don’t be afraid to colour block, wearing brights on brights. My favourite colour combinations are pink and orange and green and pink!
Nautical
Sailor meets Parisian chic. Stripes are in, whether you prefer punchy pin stripe or the classic Breton. Keep it minimal with neutral tones of white and navy paired with oversized tailoring for that elevated basics look, or choose to be a bit more daring and play around with bold colours, width and direction.
Bras as tops.
No shirt? No problem. Take a classic triangle bra or bikini top and add an element of subtle sexiness to your outfits. I am seeing this a lot when it comes to layering up outfits and also with tailoring, so grab your oversized blazer and wide legged suit trousers then elevate your outfit by swapping your shirt with a beautiful bra and you’re good to go.
Micro skirts
Just when you thought skirts couldn’t get any shorter… they have. Something my Grandma wouldn’t be impressed with but I am here for it. The early 00’s influences of shortened hemlines and low waists are back making your legs look they could go on for ever. Wear them with little tees, crop tops and oversized blazers for that model off-duty look.
Platforms. The bigger the better
Now let’s talk shoes… Channel your inner Spice Girl - with everything from trainers to heels, platform soles are in. A pair of chunky loafers and thick soled sandals will be your BFF’s this summer, I promise you that. I also adore the Jadon Dr Martens if you’re looking for a perfect chunky soled boot that will see you through all year round.
Strip it back to white
It’s one extreme or the other this season, but one thing I can tell you, is that tonal white outfits are IN. It doesn’t have to be basic though, play around with different textures and fabrics for a minimalistic luxury feel.
So now you are up to date with what’s going to be in this coming Spring / Summer, go and pack away the roll necks and big fluffy coats and bring forward your mini skirts, sandals and sunglasses because summer is just around the corner.
